曼谷的最后一天 – Last Day in Bangkok

某人脚上顶着几个水泡，仍然坚持徒步去中国城逛一圈。一路上我们放慢脚步，尽量沿着阴凉处前行，走走停停，大约 50 分钟后到了中国城。曼谷的中国城，最早可以追溯到 18 世纪，当时为了修建大皇宫，原本居住在王宫附近的华人商贩被迁至此地，自此逐渐形成了如今繁荣的商业区。两百多年过去，中国城依旧保持着那股蓬勃的生命力：金铺、药材店、街边小吃、炒菜的火光、中文招牌与泰文交错，层层叠叠地铺满整条街。无论是本地人、做生意的人，还是来自世界各地的游客，都把这里挤得熙熙攘攘，热闹非凡。

Someone was walking around with several blisters on their feet but still insisted on making the trek to Chinatown. We slowed our pace, staying in the shade whenever we could, stopping now and then, and after about fifty minutes we reached Chinatown.

Bangkok’s Chinatown dates back to the 18th century, when Chinese merchants originally living near the Grand Palace were relocated here to make way for its construction. Over the next two centuries, it grew into the bustling commercial district it is today. Gold shops, herbal pharmacies, street food stalls, the flare of woks, Chinese signs layered with Thai ones—every inch of the street is packed with life. Locals, shopkeepers, and visitors from all over the world squeeze into the narrow streets, filling the whole area with nonstop energy.

This is the famous T&K Seafood Restaurant. Back in 2017, we had a wonderful seafood feast here. We were planning to come back for lunch today, but it doesn’t open until 4 p.m., so we could only look longingly from the outside. (The woman in the photo isn’t me.)

午饭选了一家名字颇有迷惑性的店，叫“大饺子”，结果菜单上都是各种面条，不知道为什么要取这么一个名字。好在两碗面都相当可口，价格也很亲民，两碗面加一瓶可乐，一共 189 泰铢，吃得满足又不心疼钱包，哈哈。

We picked a place for lunch with a rather misleading name, “Big Dumplings,” only to find that the entire menu was noodles. No idea why they chose that name. Fortunately, both bowls of noodles were delicious, and the prices were great too. Two bowls of noodles plus a Coke came to just 189 baht ($5) —tasty, satisfying, and easy on the wallet, haha.

晚饭当然还是选择了 Jok，在曼谷的最后一晚，用熟悉的一餐为旅程收尾。味道一如既往地美味，让人满足。只是我总觉得 Jok 的太太（老板娘）今晚似乎多算了我们一些，应该不是故意的，就当是为 Jok 的生意添点小小的赞助费吧，这一餐一总共花了 1100 泰铢。

For dinner, of course we went back to Jok’s – ending our last night in Bangkok with a familiar meal. The food was as delicious as ever and thoroughly satisfying. I just have a feeling that Jok’s wife (the boss lady) might have overcharged us a bit tonight. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional, so we’ll just treat it as a small sponsorship for Jok’s business. The meal came to a total of 1,100 baht ($35).

明天就去台湾啦。

We’re heading to Taiwan tomorrow.
