It’s Halloween, which means we’re going Down Under! We got up bright and early this morning, a little concerned that the government shutdown would cause delays at the airport. Well, in fact there were no issues at all, so we had an extra hour at the airport to wait before our first short flight to Irvine!
今天是万圣节——也意味着我们的“南半球之旅”正式启程啦！清晨早早起床时，我们还略有些担心政府关门会导致机场延误。结果完全没有问题，反而多出一个小时在机场等候，准备搭乘第一段短程航班前往尔湾。
Irvine? I thought you said we were going to Sydney?! Well, we are of course, but first we are stopping at Van & Alex’s to see Jeanne’s Halloween costume! Our flight is out of LAX tonight and with it being a Friday and Halloween, we will leave Irvine to head to the airport around 5pm.
“尔湾？不是说去悉尼吗？”——当然要去！不过在那之前，我们要先到 Van 和 Alex 家，看 Jeanne 的万圣节装扮！今晚的航班从洛杉矶国际机场起飞，考虑到今天既是周五又是万圣节，我们计划下午五点左右从尔湾出发前往机场。
We will depart LAX around 10:30pm and arrive 15 hours later in Sydney at about 7am. Of course our Airbnb won’t be ready until the afternoon, so we will park our rental car nearby and explore the area. Goal for day one is to not fall asleep too early – i.e. force ourselves to stay awake until a normal bedtime – good luck!
我们将于晚上十点半左右从 洛杉矶国际机场起飞，十五小时后抵达悉尼，大约早上七点。民宿直到下午才能入住，因此我们打算先把租来的车停在附近，四处逛逛。第一天的目标只有一个——千万别太早睡着！换句话说，要强迫自己撑到正常的就寝时间……祝我们好运吧！
