佛罗伦萨最后一天 – Last Day in Florence

今天是比较轻松的一天。上午我们去了米开朗基罗广场欣赏佛罗伦萨全景。广场位于阿尔诺河南岸的高地上，是俯瞰整座城市最著名的观景台之一。从这里可以将满城红色屋顶、圣母百花大教堂的穹顶以及远处的托斯卡纳丘陵尽收眼底。虽然我们民宿的屋顶平台已经非常惊艳，但这里的视野显然更加开阔，整座城市仿佛一幅铺展开来的画卷。还有一个小任务，寻找PJG家人二十多年前来佛罗伦萨时拍摄的一张照片。我们原本以为照片就是在这里拍的，于是拿着旧照片反复比对角度和背景。可惜没能找到完全吻合的位置，宣布任务失败。

Today was a more relaxed day. In the morning, we visited Piazzale Michelangelo to enjoy the panoramic view of Florence. Located on the high ground south of the Arno River, it is one of the city’s most famous viewpoints. From here, the sea of red rooftops, the dome of Florence Cathedral, and the rolling Tuscan hills in the distance can all be seen at once. Although the rooftop terrace at our apartment already offered stunning views, the panorama from here was even more expansive, with the entire city spread out before us like a painting.

We also had a small mission: to find the location where PJG’s family had taken a photograph during a visit to Florence more than twenty years ago. We originally believed the photo had been taken here, so we carefully compared the old picture with the surrounding scenery, checking angles and backgrounds again and again. Unfortunately, we were unable to find an exact match and eventually declared the mission a failure.

随后我们继续往上走，来到了圣米尼亚托大殿，看到一对新人和参加婚礼的亲友们正在拍照留念，不远处，还有一对年轻人正在拍摄婚纱照，在古老教堂和佛罗伦萨天际线的映衬下，画面格外浪漫。教堂门口坐着一群艺术学生，安静地支起画板写生，用画笔记录眼前的景色。婚礼、爱情、艺术与历史，在同一个早上不期而遇。

We then continued uphill to the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte. There, we saw a newly married couple posing for photographs with family and friends. Not far away, another young couple was taking wedding photos, with the ancient church and the Florence skyline providing a remarkably romantic backdrop. On the steps outside the church, a group of art students sat quietly at their easels, sketching the scene before them. Weddings, love, art, and history all seemed to come together unexpectedly on the same morning.

午饭我们随意走进了一家三明治店。小店很有佛罗伦萨的味道，装修充满风情。我们坐在面向小巷的座位上，一边吃着午餐，一边看着行人。简单又惬意。

For lunch, we picked a random sandwich shop. The small restaurant had a distinctly Florentine character, with charming decor full of local character. We sat by the window facing a narrow alley, enjoying our lunch while watching people pass by. Simple and relaxing.

吃完午饭后，我们使用通票前往大教堂博物馆。就是瞻仰著名的“天堂之门”。它被誉为意大利文艺复兴时期最伟大的雕塑杰作之一，原本安装在萨圣若望洗礼堂的东门，正对着圣母百花大教堂。如今为了保护原作，真品被收藏在大教堂博物馆中，而洗礼堂外看到的是复制品。这组青铜大门正是由洛伦佐·吉贝尔蒂创作完成的。他正是1401年佛罗伦萨青铜大门设计竞赛的最终胜出者。吉贝尔蒂耗费二十多年时间完成了这组作品，十块青铜浮雕以惊人的细节和透视技巧讲述《圣经》故事。后来，米开朗基罗看到这组大门后赞叹不已，认为它美得足以成为“天堂的入口”，于是便有了“天堂之门”这个流传至今的名字。

After lunch, we used our pass to visit the Duomo Museum to see the famous “Gates of Paradise.” They are regarded as one of the greatest sculptural masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance. Originally installed as the east doors of the Baptistery of Saint John, directly facing Florence Cathedral, the originals are now preserved inside the museum for protection, while replicas are displayed outside the baptistery.

The bronze doors were created by Lorenzo Ghiberti, the winner of Florence’s famous 1401 competition to design the baptistery doors. Ghiberti spent more than twenty years completing the work. The ten bronze panels tell stories from the Bible with extraordinary detail and innovative use of perspective. When Michelangelo later saw the doors, he was so impressed that he remarked they were beautiful enough to serve as the “Gates of Paradise,” a name that has remained ever since.

博物馆里还展出了当时布鲁内莱斯基设计大穹顶时做的模型 – The museum also displays a model created by Brunelleschi during the design of the great dome.

晚饭我们又回到了神圣广场，也就是第一天抵达佛罗伦萨时来过的地方。今晚的广场格外热闹，餐厅繁忙，人群穿梭其中，气氛很是生动。回到民宿后，我们又走上屋顶平台，看着落日慢慢沉入佛罗伦萨的城市轮廓之中。最后一次欣赏美丽的夜色。

For dinner, we returned to Piazza Santo Spirito, the same place we had visited on our first day in Florence. The square was especially lively tonight, with busy restaurants, crowds moving through the streets, and a vibrant atmosphere. After returning to our apartment, we went up to the rooftop terrace once more and watched the sun slowly sink behind the skyline of Florence. One last chance to enjoy the beautiful night view.
